Laura Margaret Lott is a multidisciplinary artist working across paper, clay, fiber, printmaking, and moving image. Her practice explores pattern, texture, and the curiosity of process, drawing inspiration from environmental happenings, radical art traditions, and the ways people create meaning together through making. Whether carving a linocut, marbling paper, stitching fabric, or building stop-motion worlds, she is interested in materials that reveal their own histories through touch, repetition, and chance.

Joy is both a subject and a methodology in Laura's work. She creates spaces for curiosity, play, and collective participation, believing that making art can be both an act of care and a form of resistance. Her projects frequently blur the boundaries between fine art, craft, education, and community practice.

Current projects include The Care Package, a monthly mail club exploring the intersections of caregiving and creative practice; collective printmaking events at Osamequin Farm; a series of children's books; paper marbling workshops; and Social Fabric, a collective that makes apparel and gear that encourages people to gather. In summer 2026, her multimedia work I am 5 Years Old is on display in the America Unfinished?! exhibition at the WaterFire Arts Center. She is a member of AS220.

Laura studied music and art at Interlochen Arts Academy and the University of Virginia. She has been making things for as long as she can remember.
